Getting your page ready…
Chat API
The simplest contract for an assistant you already run: Wayo sends a message, your endpoint returns a reply.
Before you start
- A business account
- A public HTTPS endpoint that accepts POST
- Your endpoint’s sign-in credentials, if required
Connect step by step
- 1
Prepare the chat address
Your endpoint should accept a JSON message and return its answer as JSON in the same request. A website or chat widget URL is not enough.
- 2
Paste the address and sign-in method
Choose Chat API, enter the final endpoint URL, and add the credentials your endpoint expects. Wayo supports Bearer, API key header, Basic and OAuth client credentials.
- 3
Read the test reply, then connect
Run Test connection. Once the reply is right, add your business details, offerings, location and audience, then connect.
Request & response
Wayo sends · POST
{
"message": "Do you have a city bike in stock?"
}Your endpoint returns · JSON
{
"reply": "Yes. Our city bike is $180 and ready to collect."
}Example addresses and IDs are placeholders. Replace them with your service’s values.
These examples connect an API directly. Using the SDK? See SDK return formats and when a signing secret is required.
Check that it works
Test connection shows your endpoint’s reply, not an HTML page or an authentication error.
